A New Year, A New Adventure
2017 kicked off with a bang, and we're not just talking about the fireworks!
As the clock struck midnight on January 1, we found ourselves in a new chapter of our lives. The kids were a bit older, wiser, and full of energy – as always. We had big plans, and boy, did we deliver!
Spring: Blossoms and Milestones
Spring brought us sunshine, showers, and some incredible milestones.
Little Johnny's Big Achievement
Our little Johnny, who's not so little anymore, turned 10! We can't believe how fast time flies. He celebrated with a Minecraft birthday party – yes, you read that right. We had a whole village set up in our backyard, complete with Steve and creepers. It was a blast!
Sisterly Bonding
Meanwhile, our girls, Emma and Lily, were busy bonding over their shared love for painting. They even started a YouTube channel to share their artwork and tutorials. Their first video, "How to Paint a Sunflower," went viral, and they haven't looked back since!
Summer: Fun in the Sun
Summer was all about making the most of the warm weather and creating lasting memories.
Family Camping Trip
We packed up the car, loaded the kids into the backseat, and hit the road for a week-long camping trip. We explored the great outdoors, told stories around the campfire, and even caught a glimpse of a bear (from a safe distance, of course)!
Backyard Movie Nights
Every Friday night, we transformed our backyard into a cozy movie theater. We'd set up a projector, string up some fairy lights, and enjoy a movie under the stars. Our favorite was "Moana" – we might have had it on repeat a few times.
Fall: Harvesting Memories
Fall brought us pumpkin spice, crunchy leaves, and a whole lot of love.
Halloween Fun
This year, we decided to turn our house into a haunted mansion. The kids helped us set up spooky decorations, and we even had a few trick-or-treaters jumping out of their skins! Our little ones were too cute as their favorite superheroes and princesses.
Thanksgiving: A Time for Gratitude
We gathered around the table, held hands, and shared what we were grateful for. It was a heartwarming moment, and we realized just how lucky we are to have each other. The turkey was pretty darn good too!
Winter: Cozy Nights and Holiday Cheer
As the snow fell, we snuggled up and made the most of the cozy winter nights.
Holiday Baking Extravaganza
We spent a weekend in the kitchen, baking our favorite holiday treats. The house was filled with the sweet scent of cookies, and the kids had a blast decorating them. We even had a cookie decorating contest – let's just say, the winner was clear!
New Year's Eve: A Look Ahead
As we rang in 2018, we took a moment to reflect on the past year and all the love, laughter, and lessons it brought. We're excited for what's to come, and we can't wait to share our MCStay Family Update 2018 with you next year!
