Official Announcement: Season 9 Start Date

Blizzard Entertainment, the masterminds behind Overwatch, have officially announced that Season 9 will kick off on April 6, 2022. Mark your calendars, guys! Here's the start time for different regions:

- North America: 4 PM PDT - Europe: 7 PM CEST - Asia: 4 AM KST (April 7)

What to Expect in Season 9

New Hero: Sojourn

Get ready to welcome a new face to the roster! Sojourn, a damage dealer with a high-tech energy rifle and powerful abilities, is joining the fight. She's all about speed, agility, and dishing out damage from a distance.

Role Queue Changes

Blizzard has been tinkering with the Role Queue system, and Season 9 brings some tweaks to the way it works. The biggest change is the introduction of Role Queue groups. Now, you can create a group with friends and queue together, regardless of your roles. This should make finding games with your squad a lot smoother.

Competitive Season Rewards

As always, there are rewards up for grabs based on your performance in the previous season. If you reached Gold or higher in Season 8, you'll receive a player icon and spray. And if you made it to Master or Grandmaster, you'll also get a special portrait.

Season 9 End Date and Rewards

Season 9 is set to run until June 2, 2022. That gives you plenty of time to climb the ranks and unlock those sweet rewards. As mentioned earlier, the rewards you receive at the end of Season 9 will be based on your highest competitive rank achieved during the season.
